A whole new me! Life Update

Wow I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in like 9 months.  Life has really flown by this past year and I can’t believe October is almost over, where did this year go?!?! So I decided to update my blog, change the look and try to get back into the swing of things.
Engagement Photo

I’ve been busy with is trying to get acclimated to my new job (which I am still LOVING! ).  As you know September 1, 2011 I got engaged to my longtime boyfriend and we got married August 18, 2012.  Even with everything that went wrong that day, at the end I married my best friend so everything was worth it. (I will break everything up into several different posts, so it’s not too overwhelming for one post.)  I think from these two photos that I'm sharing you can tell we are a silly loving couple.

Wedding Photo

We then went on our honeymoon, which was paradise!

Wedding Photo with Jerry's dad and stepmom

We got back and we loved our new life and husband and wife.  Finally getting to marry the man I've been dreaming about marrying for 6 1/2 years finally came true.  Everything was going great for us. Until October 1, 2012 we got a phone call that you never want to get. Jerry's step mom called to inform us that his dad passed away earlier in the day, they are assuming from a massive heart attack.  He was only 52 years young. Things have completely changed in our lives.  If I could urge you to do anything in life remember to tell your loved ones you love them every day and if they make you upset forgive them and move forward, life is too short (it’s been 15 days and I'm tearing up as I type this).

I recently bought a new camera so doing looks and uploading will hopefully improve since I'm not going to be using my cell phone camera anymore. I can't wait to do some looks!

Hope you all are having a fabulous day!

NOTD - OPI Warm and Fozzie

I was born in the 80's and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE The Muppet Babies. Sooo when OPI came out with the new Muppet collection I just had to get me some. Well I decided to wait a few week to see some color swatched and figure out which colors I just had to have (since of course I can't buy the entire collection - even though I want to!!!). Here is one of the colors I got, Warm & Fozzie.

I think it's a pretty color. I'm not sure it is a great color for my skin tone, but I think it's gorgeous!!!

Holiday Post

I've been running around like crazy these past few days for several holiday parties.

My moms family gets together every year for Christmas and this year was no different. However, this year my aunt that was hosting the party decided to change it up a little. I'm sure all of you are familar with it, however this was my first time attending an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party - so I guess that makes me a Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Virgin :)

I borrowed this sweater from a friend. I now know what to expect and next year I want to make a sweater that will be bigger and better.

My FAVORITE Christmas movie of all time would have to be "A Christmas Story". So when I sent this window I thought it was AWESOME!!!

And finally onto my look for Christmas Eve. I wore a simple black and gray smokey eye. I wore a gray and black sweater from express and I got SOOOOO many complements. So here it is...

And yes these photos were taken in the car :)

Hope you all had a fabulous holiday!!!

December BIRCHBOX!!!

Ok so I know you haven't seen one of these post from me in a while, and all I can say is I"M SORRY!!!!!

I have to be honest, I haven't been all the excited about my recent boxes. I like one or two items from this box, but its not great. In fact I have to say that I don't think there has been a box yet that I've been completely excited about and I think I'm going to cancel. I just keep going back and forth about it.

ANYWAYS... Onto the box contents...

A cute little card...

Here is the note they sent and the contents of the box...

I would have to say I'm most excited about the POREfessional Primer. I've been wanting to try this for a while, but wouldn't spend the $30. I love lipgloss and I think the pink is pretty so I can get some use out of that. Honestly thought the rest I will probably not use, but you never know.

I thought the idea of a coupon was nice but really $20 off of $75?!?!? That doesn't seem that great to me. I would of rather seen a 20% any order.

This was a nice gesture.

So, how did you like your box this month? I just think the hype of the box is over for me - I judt don't know.

Have a fabulous day!!!

Love,

Foxy

FOTD: Hard Candy “Peace” Baked Eye Shadow and Review

I was shopping at our local Walmart and wanted to check out the line, since I’ve heard so much about it. I decided that I wanted to try the baked eye shadow. There were a few different choices but I chose “Peace”. It’s a light brown and brown, with shimmer, but it’s not over powering shimmer. I thought it could make for a good everyday look.

I did prime my lids, as I always do. This time I used my Two Faced Shadow Insurance. Here is the look…

I don't know wht I look so swollen...

Thoughts:

I liked the colors. When I first opened the product the colors looked really shimmery and I’m not a huge fan of that – for daily wear. However, once applied to the lid, it was just a subtle shimmer and looked pretty. The colors have good payoff. Colors are very true to color. I can’t speak for the longevity of the product because I used a primer, however it did last until I took my makeup off that night. I do like the versatility of these types of shadows because they can be used wet or dry, I however have just used them dry.

The packaging is kinda cheap and feels like it could break easily.

I also like the affordability factor on these, they are only $6. They are totally worth the price.

Have you tried this? If so, what did you think?

p.s. Miranda I think you would love this duo!!!

Have a fabulous day!!!

September BIRCHBOX is here!!!

OK, soooo eh!

That's how I felt after opening this months box. Last few months there has been one maybe two items that I got excited about, with that being said I'm not sure if I would order a full size of anything that they have sent me. You all know that I'm cheap and I'm not paying an outrageous amount for something, when I feel I can get a better deal with a drugstore product. I'm not a label girl, yes I don't have some name brand items but I bought them because I liked them not because the brand was "cool".

Anyways with that being said here is my September Birchbox, which is their one year anniversary celebration box...

Here is the card that tells everything I got...

"Girly" by Harvey Prince:
It's just ok. I would not purchase a full bottle at $98, maybe like $9.80 a bottle LOL!!

blinc mascara:
I haven't got to try this out yet, however I'm excited to check this out. The concept seems pretty neat, basically like tubes around your lashes.

Adventurous Incoco Nail Polish Applique:
These are everywhere and I've never tried one before because I truely enjoy painting my nails. It's my relaxing time of the week. I'll try these out for sure and let you know, I do think the leopard is fun (trying to think of a fun event to wear these, maybe Halloween?)

Lash Card:
This seems like a joke. How does this help your lashes not clump?!?!

Jouer Lip Conditioner:
I think my lips were soft, but I didn't notice any plumping effect. I think I got the same result from my softlips.

Friendship Bracelet:
This was the treat you thought would make us excited, LOL!!! Nice concept, just a poor execution. It's simply a string with a metal square. I put it on to be funny and Jerry looked at it and said "You are not seriously going to wear that are you?" LOL!!!

As stated I was not overly impressed about this box. I am considering canceling my subscription, and I know $10 isn't a lot and I LOVE to get home and see that box of surprise waiting for me - but could my $10 be spent better else where?? I think I will give it until the beginning of the year and see how I feel then.

What are your thoughts on Birchbox recently?

Have a fabulous day!!!
