My Camping Weekend...

So, as some of you may remember from my splish splash nail art post, I went on a float trip. A weekend that is spent camping, partying, floating on the river and having a blast with friends. I thought I would share some of those moments with you. Don’t pay any attention to the quality of the photos as they were taken with a water proof disposable camera, by people that had a LOT to drink.

We packed up the car and headed down to the camp ground, trying to get there before the storm so we could set our tent up. However, after having to turn around twice and stop for food once our 1 ½ hr trip turned out to be 45 minutes longer than we hoped. We arrived at the camp ground and they told us it just stopped raining, so whew dodge it! We go it and check in and just as we walk out side it starts to drizzle – no big deal but then when you looked into the sky, it was scary looking.

The sky on the way down...

We made it down to the camp site and was able to get a pop up tent up to stand under, which we jokingly used as a garage. It’s so nice to bring your beater car down so you don’t mess up your good cars. Anyways we all stood under the pop up for about 30 mins before all hell broke loose and we all sprinted for our cars. It rained sooooo hard the site started to flood. Then I noticed that the pop was collapsing due to collecting all the rain. I jumped out and was trying to dump the water out, so it didn’t break the pop up. Then my brother and boyfriend came running over to help but they were talk enough to take the top off and guess where at that water landed??? You guess it, on me. About 20 mins later the rain slowed down and I was already soaked so I just cracked open a beer and hung out in the rain LOL!

Just being silly before the downpour...

Saturday morning we woke up around 6:30 am thanks to some noisy campers next to us. Made breakfast and got ready for the float. Loaded up onto the bus (that takes you to where you start) and cracked my first beer at 9:30 am. There are only a FEW times that I will crack a beer that early; Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day and float trips. The float was only 4.5 miles long, but from stopping and partying so much we didn’t finish until 6:00 pm and then ½ of the group stayed down and partied in the water for another 2 hours.

Here are shots of what it looks like on the river...

We had sooo much fun; if you ever get the chance get your friends together, pack a cooler and head to the river!

I know this post had nothing to do with beauty, but I wanted to share more of who I am with you!!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!!!

REVIEW - Pink Spa

Recently contact by Tori McKeand, a representative of Pink Spa, to test and review some of their products. This is a fairly new company, started in 11/2010. “So what is Pink Spa?  It’s a company that allows you to get together with all your girlfriends for a much needed relaxing spa night! Relax while our consultant shows you all of our amazing products.  Recharge yourself with the luxuriousness we have to offer.  Rejuvenate your skin with our exfoliating products and leave your skin with a fresh, young and healthy glow.”

Keep reading to see my review of some of their products!
This is everything that she sent to me

Aquatico Salt Scrub (full size) – The site claims “Fortified with natural botanical oils and skin softening shea butter, European spa salts and lightly exfoliating jojoba beads, astringent rose and lemon powders.” I’ve used this product for just over a month now, in fact it’s almost gone. I use it 3 to 4 times a week, mainly on my elbows and knees since those are the areas that seem the most dry/rough to me. I liked the smell of this scrub. It reminded me of the ocean, but in a spa ocean sort of way (strange I know). I feel like this did a good job at exfoliating my skin, but I didn’t notice my skin being any softer than before. Price $13 for 4 oz.

Sugar Scrub in “Tropical Sunrise” (sample size) –The site claims “Sugar scrubs offer you a healthy and natural way to exfoliate, cleanse and balance dead, dry skin cells leaving your skin naturally smooth and soft. Formulated with only the richest natural ingredients.” I used this product on my elbow, because as we all know are elbow tend to need a little bit more attention than other areas. The product had a nice, also fruity, smell to it. The consistency was like a thin lotion, like if you mixed water into your lotion. I personally didn’t notice any difference from the elbow that I used it on, from the elbow that I didn’t use it on. I used a sample size, which seemed like a decent amount for one elbow, maybe the full size is different. Price $10 for 4 oz.

Body Soufflé in “Malibu Lime” (sample size) – The site claims “The Body Soufflé has a pearlescent luster that appears to be thick and whipped cream-like. Although it feels light and fluffy, the Soufflé still provides a luxurious and nurturing experience.” I really liked this product a lot. The site also claims that “It revitalizes the skin by enhancing its firmness and elasticity, providing a youthful look and feel”, however since I used a sample size I am not sure how well the firming action actually works. I thought the smell was nice as well. It had a certain spa like smell, yet it reminded me of the beach. This product rubbed in nicely and left a nice moisturized feeling, I really enjoyed it – this was my FAVORITE! Price $15 for 8 oz.

Body Butter in “Tropical Sunrise” (sample size) – The site claims “Whipped body butter is a light and fluffy hydration cream that penetrates deeply into the skin delivering advanced moisture to overly dry and cracked skin.” The butter applies smoothly and is thick. My skin felt instantly smooth, soft – almost silky - and felt that way for a while after application. The scent reminds me of cocoa butter, if you like cocoa butter this is the scent for you. Price: $10.50 for 4 oz.

Body Lotion in “Pink Love” (sample size) – The site claims “finest quality, made with special care in mind to be light, non-greasy and leave your hands and body feeling silky and smooth.” I was not a fan. The lotion was thin and after a short time, I felt like I needed more. My hands did not feel greasy; however they didn’t have that soft moisturized feeling either. The scent reminded me of a Victoria’s Secret lotion (I believe the name is “Love Spell”). It’s a sweet scent. Price: $10 for 8 oz.

Pedi Polish & Whip in “Margarita” (sample) – The site claims that the polish will "... remove dry and flaking skin effectively. It softens and conditions skin with all natural sugar cane, sea salt, lotion and oils." and that the whip is "... a light, fluffy hydration cream that softens and delivers advanced moisture to dry skin."  When I was first rubbing this product on I wasn't wowed by it, just felt like a gentle exfoliator. I thought the scent was nice, actually I thought it was fun (I know I'm strange :) ). It smelled like limes, or a regular margarita. After applying the polish, I then rubbed in the whip. This left my feet feeling really soft - nice! Then the next day when I got home from work, in which I have to wear steel toed boots, my feet still felt really soft. I'm not sure how these products would work without each other, but I was a big fan of them together. Price: Polish $10 for  Whip $10.50 for

Also, I received a punch card or a "Preferred Customer Card". With this card for every $10 you spend you get a punch, once you get 10 punches you get $10 off. Something I think the company could benefit from would be to put suggestions for use on their products. While some will know exactly how to use a product, others might not.

Thank you Tori for allowing me to test and review your products!!!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!!!

OPI Blue Shatter Nail Polish

So I bought all the new blue shades of the OPI Nail shatter a while ago, but I'm finally getting a change to share with you what it looks like.

I painted over the top of a silver and an orange color that I have.

When I first got the Black Shatter I LOVED it. But I don't remeber it working the same as every other color since then has. The blue must be applied one coat, very thin. Do NOT make two or more swipes with it or else it won't work. I do like the shatter polishes, but make sure you can work quick, because they do dry quickly.

Have a fabulous day!

Nail Art - Splish Splash

So this weekend we are going camping and while we are down there we are going floating. For those that have never been floating, let me tell you how this works. First you take a school bus ride about 30 mins (or shorter depending how far your camp site is from the river), we usually start out at about 9:00 am. The bus drops us off at our raft, you drag it to the water and jump in. The float we are doing in about 6 miles. On this trip we bring enough beer to stock a bar, water, food and of course a water proof cd player. You just kick back and relax, drink beer and have fun with your friends. We take footballs to throw around or some times even a frisbee. As you float down the river you stop at different banks and talk to people and just have a BLAST! We normally don't get out of the water until  5:00 pm or 6:00 pm (yes about 9 hours later). Last year we actually hung out at the last bank longer than we thought and we didn't get back until 7:45 pm. Since none of us have a watch, we don't know what time it is but the sun is usually a good guide.

ANYWAYS, so the water fun was the inspiration for my nail art. It didn't turn out like I had actually imagined it, but I still think it's cute. Plus by the end of the float it will be long gone because if your polish isn't chipped at the end, you didn't have fun :)

My nails actually look more like stars I guess than water splashes, but I will be sleeping under the stars so I guess its still fitting huh?!?!?

Have a fabulous week!!!
